Mission Statement
ComposersCollaborative Inc. promotes new music as an integral part of our lives and culture. We help creative and performing artists connect with audiences by encouraging big ideas, fueling vital collaborations, and producing innovative multidisciplinary performances.
Programs
Serial Underground (2004 – present) a new music variety show held each first Sunday of the month at 6:00 PM at the Cornelia Street Café curated and hosted by CCi Artistic Director Jed Distler. Composers, writers, visual artists and performers mix and match together and with the audience as they showcase new projects in an intimate, informal setting, fueled by the café’s superb food and drink options.
Non Sequitur (1998-2008) a weeklong summer festival featuring staged performances of new work generated by collaborative teams made up of composers, writers and visual artists.
Solo Flights (1994-2003) a recital series embracing contemporary piano music’s widest stylistic, expressive scope and most committed, communicative practitioners. In 2000, the CRI label released a compilation CD of series highlights, now available in MP3 download format.
